"CHIRP" is a collaborative composition between Drew Sensue-Weinstein and me. An homage to crickets, the piece was inspired by a field recording of field crickets in Georgia, which tried to emulate through our limited acoustic and physical human ability. The goal of the piece is never to replicate the sound of the crickets; we realize that that is beyond our ability. Instead, we tried to embody the expanse, depth, and power of a cricket sound as much as possible.
